GLN check digit or length wrong (IW-GLN)
- Standard: invowerk
- Severity: warning
- Affected fields: BT-29, BT-34, BT-46, BT-49, BT-71
This is a hint from invowerk, not a validation rule.
Meaning
A scheme 0088 identifier is not a valid GLN because it does not have exactly 13 digits or its GS1 check digit does not match. This affects, for example, electronic addresses or delivery locations (BT-34, BT-49, BT-71). The hint does not change the result.
Possible causes
- Transposed or mistyped digits in the GLN.
- Another GS1 number, such as a 14-digit GTIN, was given under scheme 0088.
- Leading zeros were lost on export.
How to fix it
- In your invoicing software, compare the GLN with the business partner's master data.
- Give only the 13-digit GLN under scheme 0088.
