External document link is not an absolute URL (BR-TMP-2)
- Standard: XRechnung
- Severity: error
- Affected fields: BT-124
Meaning
If the invoice refers to an external document (BT-124), the reference must be an absolute URL with a scheme, e.g. https://example.com/delivery-note.pdf. A file name or relative path cannot be resolved by the recipient.
Possible causes
- Only the file name is given instead of a URL, e.g. invoice.pdf.
- The scheme is missing, e.g. www.example.com/attachment.pdf without https://.
How to fix it
- In your invoicing software, enter the full link or embed the document as an attachment.
- In the XML: set BT-124 as an absolute URL (UBL cac:AdditionalDocumentReference/cac:Attachment/cac:ExternalReference/cbc:URI, CII ram:AdditionalReferencedDocument/ram:URIID).
Example from the test bench: Attachment reference as a relative URL (BR-TMP-2)
